Once assembled and powered, the first thing that becomes immediately obvious is that the thing needs to be well bolted down (not to mention to have software which treats it nice and gently).
It might seem excessive to some, but since I had nowhere proper to develop this new hobby, and needed to make some space for storage of some and sundry, I decided to knock up a cheap workbench so that I could simply screw the manipulator straight down without worrying about damaging expensive furniture, and yet as it was my workstation the thing would very literally be close at hand. Some bits of 2x2 and planks of furniture wood from the local DIY superstore did the trick. Maybe one day Ill provide full construction details here, but I think you can knock something together yourself if you are so inclined.
